About me
Ricardo has been the Director of the McNair Program at the University of New Mexico since November of 2012. His first introduction to McNair was as an undergraduate when he participated in the program at UNM. After graduating from UNM with a BA in History and Spanish, he went to the University of Wisconsin Madison where he began a Ph.D. program in History. While at UW Madison, he served as a graduate assistant with TRIO SSS and McNair. He discovered a passion for working with this population of college students and ended up leaving UW Madison after earning his MA and returning to UNM where he worked for 8 years as an academic advisor with the College Enrichment Program before his time with McNair & ROP.
